Year 6 Visit MOSI

On Monday, Year 6 enjoyed a fantastic day of science activities at the Museum of Science and Industry. After taking the tram into central Manchester, we arrived at MoSI to start our first workshop. This took place in the new gallery dedicated to gaming. Deciding which games to try out was a little overwhelming, as there are over a hundred consoles. The children were fascinated to see how things have changed over the last five decades and enjoyed trying out early games like Pong and Pacman.

After that, there was another workshop in which the children learned about three Important scientific discoveries made in Manchester before they worked in groups to solve scientific problems. Great teamwork, as well as much trial and error, led to some ambitious and creative designs.  After lunch, there was time to explore the many interactive activities in the Experiment Area. There are so many fun and engaging activities to puzzle over!

Travelling by tram was a learning experience in itself, and the museum allowed the children to explore and develop their scientific understanding. Many thanks to Mrs Agius and Mrs Sathi for accompanying us.
